Gaelscoil Waterford took part in Food Dudes in 2018. The children got on extremely well and of course so did the teachers! One teacher did a short course (2 hours) and she came back with all the details.
We had a meeting and then we were ready to start. The driver came every day early in the morning with the fruit and vegetables. Everything was fresh and tasty. We had our own committee from the senior classes and they distributed everything around the rooms. It was excellent that there was letters for parents in the package, that came from Food Dudes. This meant that they could be informed on everything also. There were never many leftovers on any of the days and anything that was leftover could be put in recyclable bags to be given to the driver every day. I would really recommend Food Dudes highly. It is an excellent way to encourage kids to eat healthily, even for 5th and 6th class. The Prizes were suitable and all feedback from the parents was very positive.

The Food Dudes Programme has been a huge success for us in St. Aidan's NS. The Food Dudes Programme encourages children to make correct food choices on a daily basis and promotes eating healthily which is crucial to our happiness and achievement in life. We have seen a big increase in fruit and vegetables in lunchboxes since introducing the programme. The children love the characters in the episodes.The stories are set in familiar situations for the children thereby making the message and content very accessible to even the youngest children in the school.Robert ByrneSt Aidans N.S., Co Kilkenny
